Porsche 911 GT2 tuned by TechArt sets Sachsenring lap record

The TechArt GT Street RS, as the modified GT2 is called, clocked a time of 1:31.94 around the almost 3.7km Sachsenring test track, shaving over four seconds over the previous record, which was held by the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce.

The Italian supercar has set the time of 1:36.29, but TehcArt’s GT Street RS blitzed the record during a test run conducted by German automobile magazine AutoBild, who had arranged for a comparison between the TechArt and several other cars.

The GT Street RS was also clocked on a 0-100km/h sprint by the magazine, and it managed to set a time of 3.5 seconds for the century sprint. The TechArt GT Street RS boasts 690bhp and 860Nm of torque, an increase of 160bhp and 176Nm over the standard 911 GT2.
