Ram has revealed the 1500 REV at the New York International Auto Show.
Highlight for the new all-electric truck is the fact that it will come with two battery options, with the first boasting a 168kWh capacity allowing a targeted range of 563km, while an optional 229kWh battery will also be offered, bumping the total range for the truck to a maximum of 804km.
For comparison, the Mercedes-Benz EQS comes with a 107.8kWh battery, while the Audi RS e-tron GT comes with a 93kWh battery.
The range of the Ram 1500 REV is supported by a power output of 645bhp and 840Nm of torque, and the ability to ford over water up to 61cm deep, as well as a towing capacity of up to 6,350kg a maximum payload capacity of 1,200kg.
And the pickup also has the exterior design to match this capability.
At the front, the car has retained Ram's iconic 'tuning fork' LED head light design. These flank a lit 'RAM' badge, here reimagined in a modern and contemporary script. The front fascia of the Ram 1500 REV is also body coloured to distinguish it from the rest of the Ram lineup.
A charging port at the driver's side will make use of LED lighting to communicate the truck's charging status, while the car will also play audible sound signals to indicate when the truck is plugged in and when charging has begun.
Like the front, the rear of the Ram 1500 REV features an all new, EV-specific, premium LED taillight design that spans onto the tailgate.
Ram states that a maximum charging speed of 350kW for both battery sizes means the truck is able to add up to 177km of range with just 10 minutes of charging. The Ram 1500 REV will also be able to support vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home and vehicle-grid bi-directional charging, so it can send power to a home during a storm, run the tailgate party or provide power at the camp or jobsite.
An onboard power panel in the bed, meanwhile, can provide up to 7.2kW while the available onboard power panel in the frunk provides up to 3.6kW. The truck will additionally make use of a multi-link independent rear suspension with standard four-corner air suspension with adaptive damping.
A 14.5-inch infotainment screen which runs the Uconnect 5 system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a segment-first 10.25-inch passenger screen, digital rear view mirror, Head-up Display and a Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system will all feature in the cabin of the Ram 1500 REV.
