Volkswagen has revealed new details of the ID.7 ahead of its world premiere, now set to take place come 17 April 2023.
The ID.7 all-electric saloon, designed to offer comfortable long-distance drives, is currently undergoing final test drives in Spain.
Contributing to this long-legged capability is a newly developed electric drive motor. While no exact output details are offered yet, this electric motor is already described by Volkswagen as the most powerful electric motor, while also delivering the highest torque, in an ID. model so far.
The Volkswagen ID.7 will also be available with battery sizes that will allow it to reach a range of 700km, while charging speeds of up to 200kW are also expected.
On the comfort front, the ID.7 is set to get adaptive chassis control as an option, which will allow it to offer different driving modes so the driver can choose between comfort or sportiness. This, Volkswagen states, will pair with a new progressive steering system for precise handling alongside high stability.
In the cabin, a spacious and high-quality interior is promised, while the car is set to get its instrument size significantly reduced. Here, a 15-inch infotainment display is set to feature. The car will also get ergoActive seats, which can offer up to 14 ways of adjustment, alongside a massage and an automatic seat climate function.
The Volkswagen ID.7 is scheduled for market launch in Europe and will be a key model for the brand's target to increase the share of electric models to 80% in Europe by 2030.
