Hyundai i30 Review

You might be tired of all those "i"-related names, but ironically, both the iMac and i30 have one thing in common. To further understand what and why, lets start with a lengthy, thousand-odd worded explanation. Getting bored already?

Everything works fine, and I dare say, better than the japanese mainstays that I have driven before (jazz, corolla, sunny). I'm glad Hyundai has came up with I30 cos it elevates the brand to an unpredecented level of quality. The ride is very smooth and quiet and feels continental.
Areas in the car that need improvement are quite basic car novelties (no cruising mode, auto climax control, no multi-mp3 cd player) Apart from these, no complains really. Way to go... I hope to see more I30s on the road!

Had a test drive. Handling is good but engine performance is mediocre. When you tap accelerator to overtake, there is some delay before your car start really accelerate. This was surprising taking into account 1.6 engine. Actually, 1.4 Chevrolet has better response!!
Other than that it looks like a good car but long term reliability is a question.
For such price (or slightly higher) there are more appropriate cars in the market.

What I like
Exterior styling

What I do not like
Poor engine performance when you really need it
Not value for money

I have driven a few cars like ,Civic, Lancer GLX, Matrix, Punto and now Cerato, and me seeking a new Korean car. I've test drive this car, and oh my... it was a superb car. Beautiful bluish lit panel at night makes the car more desirable. Steering is light because of computer controlled, so no need to grip very tight unlike other makes. One thing i like is my partner doesn't complain of giddiness. It shows that the car is not a bumpy ride. Smooth and comfy, i feel like bringing the car home but was stop by the sales exec... Too bad but i am currently in a process of buying it.. :)

What I like
Not many 130s in Singapore road yet, but soon to be. The car was very comfy, spacious for passenger, ability to adjust seat height for tall person like me. Ipod access, sound systems decent. No bumpy ride, steering is light with audio control, rear boot is quite spacious around 340L, and side mirror is foldable. Me and my partner likes the blue lit so much that we have start dreaming to enjoy our night in our soon new car with the sunroof open viewing the stars... :)

What I do not like
I would prefer if they can have climate control like their brother Avante 07. Person like me who is always on the move, i would like additional power point at the boot area where i can work with my notebook and print my paperwork at the same time inside the convenience of the car without rushing to the office. SAve ever escalating petrol and precious short time. Perhaps built in GPS, WIFI and Bluetooth system will score for potential car buyers especially young and savvy users who constantly on the move. That would really justify that so call name "i". Hyundai, can you hear me??

Ridiculously expensive. Although the Koreans have greatly improved in quality and spec, they are still a lag away from Honda. Simply trying to sell at Honda or above Honda prices is simply trying to sell a lemon at the price of a watermelon.

What I like
responsive engine

What I do not like
only a idiot will buy at such price.
