Review
I collected my new Nissan Sylphy 1.6 last week. The drive has been pretty smooth so far and I feel that the interior is cosy and comfortable. Sound proofing is good and compared to the other cars I owned earlier, this is silent.
HAven't completed one tank. So don't know about FC. This car is a real value for money.
What I like
* Silent and smooth
* Good interior design
* Decent road holding
* Good Audio system
What I do not like
* Lack of clock on the dash board.
* Basic display unit - it meets the purpose, but could be better.

I own a 2015 Sylphy 1.6 Premium and topped up for the GPS-Bluetooth-DVD -Reverse Cam module.
Having driven for close to 3 weeks, and formerly an Altis owner, the power of the cvt is an unmatch with the altis. Fuel economy is absolutely impressive as I see my rpm hit 1600 at a speed of 100kmh.
Exterior, it resembles a Luxury sedan with its keyless entry and bold front grills with Day running white LED. From the rear, the new sylphy looks wider with its LED rear lights.
From the profile, the new sylphy looks like a luxury sedan and more streamlined.
CVT is really the technology to beat when it comes to fuel efficiency and smoothness. However pick up is a little slow. So the driver must be light footed. At 40kmh, the car appears to catch on to the right gear ratio and start picking up very fast.
Interior wise, it's really spacious at the rear. I have my baby chair at the rear seat behind me. Even after shifting my seat to a comfortable position, the are still ample space betwern the rear of my seat to the baby chair such that my elder kid could easily walk through to the other side.
Most importantly, it is very quiet on the move. You hardly hear the engine sound. Road sound can be loud on really new tar roads.
What I like
Spacious interior
Quiet
Fuel efficiency (really hit fc of 15km/l
luxury design
really really huge boot!!!!
What I do not like
FueL guage dips very fast for 1st half of the tank. Gauge dips slower. But when yellow low-fuel pops up, you acutUally has 130 + km left. Kiasi Car

Bought a Sylphy Premium 1.6A as a family car to replace my old Honda Civic 1.8A. Have been driving it for 2 weeks and I must say that it's an average sedan that is affordable as compared to other Japan brands. As compared to its other competitors - Altis, Mazda 3 and Kia K3 (all test driven at least twice), the Sylphy wins in terms of handling, features and, most importantly, pricing.
What I like
- Pricing
- Features (keyless entry, remote boot opening, daylight running lights, chrome trim) even for the Premium version
- Engine quietness
- Rear aircon vent
- Fuel economy (managed to hit 15.1km/L on 60-40 expressway-city driving)
What I do not like
- Lack of mudflaps, which may have caused a very irritating noise in the rear when driving in wet conditions due to water from tyres hitting the wheel wells
- Slow pickup

Just took delivery of my car on 28 April 2015. Needed a while to get used to the auto gear as my previous car is Mazda5. Car is much more quieter than my ex car. Steering is much lighter but easy to turn. On the road feeling was very smooth. Like the auto AIRCON and the rear AIRCON vent, I also like the keyless start and keyless entry. Very convenience. Leather looked very nice. As GPS screen at center console, sometimes hard to see with sun reflection. Sports rim is beautiful.
What I like
Keyless entry
Keyless start
Auto AIRCON
Rear AIRCON
Gps built in
What I do not like
No auto headlight

Received the car on 1 Apr and have been driving for about 2 weeks now. Simply love the quiet ride that Sylphy offers. Road and wind noise are well supressed with little noise intruding the cabin. With the huge cabin space passengers are seated comfortably, especially with the rear aircon blowing cool air during a hot day. The huge boot is really handy during weekly grocery shopping. However the engine is a let down as it struggles with the huge body. This is apparent when the car starts to move off from the red light. I find myself using the Sport button often and thus affecting the FC which average about 11km/L. Hopefully this will improve after the 1st oil change.
What I like
Huge cabin space and boot
Attractive design
Excellent sound insulation
What I do not like
Slow pick up
Hard plastics at lower half of the cabin
Lack of storage space
Small bottle holders which can hold 500ml of mineral bottle max

Didn't like the car shape at my first sight but begin to appreciate it slowly and like it now! Test drive 3 times before buying the Signature series. Salesperson Lay Hong was very patient, understanding and not pushy! Comfortable and spacious cabin. Smooth driving.
What I like
-Eagle-like dashboard design, simple but yet stylish with practical features.
-Comfortable cushion, luxurious feel of the interior design and materials.
-Dual zone aircon and the Rear aircon.
-Spacious cabin and lot's of leg room for the rear passengers.
-Keyless system and auto retractable side mirrors.
What I do not like
-No matter how hard you step on the accelerator, it's still a smooth comfort drive, so don't expect sport car speeding feel.
-No knockdown rear seats.
A relatively cheap sedan which gives the luxurious feel! | Posted on 09 Feb 2015 |

Test drove the Sylphy 1.6 Premium three weeks ago. Have to say that the handling has got more "feel" than its close competitor Altis, which has a rather light steering wheel. Drive was rather refined with limited outside noise coming in. At a relatively cheaper price than almost all of its closest competitors, the Sylphy actually offers an interior that looks like it should be classed with the luxury models. Definitely the best sedan to buy if you are on a budget and still want something that feels luxurious.
What I like
- refined drive
- luxurious interior
- cheaper price
What I do not like
- lack of new-age features

Best mid sized Jap sedan I have ever driven.
The CVT is good but maybe alittle harsh.
Bumpy over uneven roads and the steering is very light. Too light.
Other extra features very good and useful.
Seats materials inside is too soft. Not firm.
Good boot size.
What I like
Almost everything
especially the std keyless entry
What I do not like
suspension needs to be retuned....too bumpy.
the steering is also way too light

Love this car at first sight while they're having their road show at vivo city last weekend and went down to their ubi showroom and tested their 2014 nissan slphy 1.6 premium model.
The first thing that caught my attention was the white led headlights and the shiny sleek glossy red with chrome lining signature grills.
The 2014 slphy seats are way better than the few cars that i've tested for past few weeks (be it korean, japanese or continental car makes). It feels like driving around this tiny island in my living room sofa. sadly...actuay it feels way more comfortable than my living room sofa.
What I like
- Head turning LED Headlights and taillights
- Mature and Executive exterior and interior styling
- good usage of the soft touch in the interior
- dual climate control even in base model
- spacious cabin, large leg room and deep boot space
- fuel economy with 1.6 pure drive ctv technology
- very smooth cvt automatic transmission
- fully packed 7" infotainment system which has built-in gps system
- adequate road feedback on the steering
- specially designed sofa seats for the driver and passenger
(which they used for their teana cars)
What I do not like
- car price with coe..................................................................
- it's a smooth comfort car so no matter how hard u step on the gas..
you'll just waste your petrol. so be gentle on the padels.
- no manual transmission varient

took delivery of the car in Nov14. this is my fourth Nissan model, compared to the earlier ones, there are improvements although it is from Thai factory.
especially the roof sound proofing the occupants can hear each other.
overall it is a comfortable car for the family.
What I like
- spacious cabin. lots of leg room for the rear passenger.
- the seats is high. it is easier to get into and out of car.
- the rear seat is comfortable, it is like a sofa.
What I do not like
- not much space in the middle console to place HP or small stuff.
- arm rest is too low.
- if the handbrake can be replaced by foot brake will be great.
- engine start/stop button if on the right side instead of left will be better.
A car lack of road feedback | Posted on 24 Sep 2014 |

Review
Test drive this car recently.
The steering wheel is very light, you can almost steer using one finger. Good for comfort but provides less road feedback.
Cabin is quiet, sound proof is very good.
Spacious and good quality interior. Compared to other Jap models, the interior is mostly covered by leather and soft materials.
You can drive it in comfort and relaxed, however my concern is the lack of road feedback, which is an essential element of safe driving. With little sound from engine coming into cabin and road feel, the only feedback we have is what we see.
What I like
Good features
Nice exterior, luxury feel.
Good quality interior with soft material and leather.
Cheap maintenance cost
What I do not like
Lack of road feedback.
Too quiet.

This car is good looking. The new design simply makes it gorgeous eye candy.
That is if you the homely sort, which most of us who come look are.
Public view aside, the interior is adequate and nice. Easier on the eyes. The steering controls are a nice touch. Pop the bonnet, you will see the designer included insulation for the hood support, very nice.
In my humble opinion, I think this car is a better buy than it's usual competitors currently. It drives better than it's Ubi neighbor, does not rate a higher insurance premium than the other Ubi neighbor.
What I like
Stable feel.
Upgraded design elements over it's Japanese Competition, and hey, it's Japanese Engineering.
What I do not like
Made in Thailand.

It is a good family car and spacious for a family of 4 or even 5. The engine is quiet and you don't even notice that it is on when it is stationary. Both front and rear seats are good. The driver seat is firm with good support for the driver and the rear seat is comfortable for the passengers.
The only setback is the pickup
If you have driven a VW or even Honda, you will feel the different. Anyway, Sylphy is a family car.
The Exterior is much better than the previous model
What I like
- the keyless system
- the seat
What I do not like
- not enough storage compartments, nowhere to put the petrol card etc...
- slow pickup

This car is really value for money. The cabin is spacious and it comes with a rear air-con. The interior looks better as compared to previous model. Sound proofing also quite decently done up.
Engine picks up seem quite comfortable for myself. Maybe because i am a light footed. Its quite comfortable and stable to drive especially cruising on the express way. Sometime you dun feel its 100km/hr already.
What I like
I like the spaciousness of the car. The boot is huge and can put alot of things inside.
What I do not like
Not enough storage compartments for the driver.

Collected my signature series in end Feb 15. So far, this car had served my family well. No problems with the total comfort that we are looking for. Fuel consumption is reasonable, able to clock around 14km/l for 50% Highway.
What I like
Spacious interior.
Nice exterior as well for the signature series.
Large boot space.
Rear airocn.
Reasonable fuel consumption.
Quiet and smooth.
What I do not like
Lack of features.
Not enough compartment space for driver.
No auto headline.
No mirror for at the passenger sun visor side.
