I have driven alot of new cars, but this has yet to be the most unreliable car ever - not to mention VERY POOR after sales service.

On the 3rd day after collecting the car, my wife and 2 toddlers took the car out for grocery shopping. While driving, the car engine suddenly started to choke with system error lights flashing all over the dashboard. She had a few mins to look for a carpark lot nearby and immediately parked the car. The moment she stopped the car, the car engine died.

She called up the VW Roadside Assistance and waited for more than 2 hours. If you read VW's website - they promised to make an effort to arrive the scene within 45mins unless bad traffic. I checked the traffic and it was freeflow all across. Frustrated, I skipped work to pick up my wife and kids. The tow truck arrived the moment I got to the carpark lot - exactly 2.5 hours after she made the call.

The next day, VW sales manager sent us a typical cut & paste 'I am sorry'' email and offered us a loaner car. Few hours later, a VW technician called me up asking me to go pick up the car as they have repaired the faulty engine. I refused to pick up the car because the car is defective and asked the sales manager to contact me for a new replacement. VW Singapore sold us a car that is improperly assembled, poor inspected and released to the roads for consumers to drive. How can I be assured that this car engine wont fail again?

The sales manager wrote us an email telling us that the engine failure was due to a defective control box and have replaced the said item. When I questioned if they can give me assurances that the car engine wont die in the middle of road again, the question was left unanswered.

Be very cautious about buying this car or any VW brand.

What I like
Styling and looks.

What I do not like
After sales service.
Unreliable.
Poor tow service & response.
Defective car engine

A beautiful car. It makes people stop to stare as you glide gently through the streets. You've got to try it.

What I like
Power, luxury, awesome.

What I do not like
The name passat cc....me feels it should have another name to distinguish itself from its ugly brother.

I have had the privilege of driving the first generation Passat CC 1.8l since its launch back in March/April 2008. Back then, I didn't see the practicality of paying a few tens of thousands more for the 2l which is equipped with bi-xenon headlights and a moon roof (still don't understand why car manufacturers bother with this installation).

You will see from the "likes" and "dislikes" sections that there is little complaint that I have with my Passat CC. It has served me very well for more than 1.5 years now. I eagerly await to see how this model will evolve in the years to come. For those who seek to have a sporty drive without having to break the bank, the Passat CC should rank as a top choice, hands down!

What I like
The special thing for me about this car is that its exterior styling immediately draws attention. The stretched length and lower profile gives this car the edge of looking streamline from its sides, with frameless windows to complete the look.

Apart from the droolsome exterior styling, the interior of the car is solidly built. It may not and is not intended to tip the scale in terms of luxury finishes, but one would be impressed when seated in the car.

The cabin is generous with leg room and the semi-bucket seats are comfortable. The touch screen console is classy (in contrast to quite a number of other offerings in the market). Further, I love the fact that the entire row of back seats can be folded back to extend the already generous boot.

On the road, this car is no pussy. Acceleration off the block is effortless and it quickly achieves a silky smooth ride from 80km/h and upwards. Gear change from the 7-speed DSG gear box is quiet and smooth.

The lower profile of the car body and the weight of the car body stablises the car with little body roll as it cruises on both along the straight and at the curves.

What I do not like
In terms of areas of improvement, I personally think that the front of the car can be more streamlined to make the overall exterior even more sporty (or in local parlance, "fierce").

As for the interior, having the GPS system as a standard feature for all models in order to maximise the beautiful touch screen console would be most welcome.

The air-conditioning within the cabin is a little less robust than quite a number of other models. Think the engineers can help improve the overall airflow within the cabin.

For many working class man who crave for luxury class with performance and sporty feel, this is a recommended car i would recommend. Unlike the older models, the new series is longer, wider spacious, and lower for best cruising performance. With multiple best awards for this model, it has proven its class of luxury coupled with Sporty feel and performance.

What I like
- Sporty Feel
- Luxury External Feel

What I do not like
- High price, parts is not easy available in Singapore

An excellent car, with all rounder capabilities scores well in all segments of my own scoretable...

It rides well, drives well and was styled well too!

18inch wheels would do a justifiable job to the outlook of the car even for the entry level 1.8L version.

What I like
This car is what the luxury segment is made up of. Excellent poise, design and with adequate power to match with the excellent handling. And comes with 5 seater option now. What more can U ask for ?

What I do not like
Selling price is the only limiting factor prohibiting this car from making its presence felt on the road.

Passat CC started something that others followed. It has not progress much since, but that's both a good point and a bad one. In terms of style, it is still one of the best looking designs around. And with good features, it's worth the buck, whichever way you calculate. But there are things that needs to be changed to keep up with the times. VW is now slowly realizing this and be patient, soon the Passat CC will be more than just good looks and value-for-money. It will be a "Must-Have" in anyone's books - problem is how soon (no one knows, not even VW folks). VW needs to really put their ears to the ground and hear the army coming.

What I like
The Engine, Drive-feel and Ability to withstand "reasonable torture" without scarring from the abuse. Definitely value-for-money (New or Resale).

What I do not like
Some of the features needs improvement or to be more ahead of its time (e.g. Touch-screen User Interface needs to be more "intimate". Some of the features should be in the settings rather than leave it to the general market modification folks (e.g. side mirror folding options, Rear seating shades, etc).
