Went for a test drive today, quite an impressive ride.. when the SE drove the car to me.. the exhaust note from this ride is awesome... it has a bassy note.. giving this ride a WOW factor.. when driving it, the low end is alright, very smooth, wait till you step harder till rpm 2.4k, the turbo charge kick in and wow, the whole car change totally.. it handle very hard at high speed... switch to sport mode and the steering and suspension change.. everything get sportier... overall a very good ride..
What I like
Almost everything...
What I do not like
price abit too steep....

Test drove this car a few times and although it lacks the growl of the R32's 3.2 V6 engine, it does have its own charm and low "bassy sounding" exhaust. It is also a little heavier and you can feel the weight.
If you've driven or currently own a GTI/R32, you'd feel the difference immediately. The GTI (although not the faster thing on 4 wheels) is a zippy off the line car which will bring you hours of fun. However, you will find a loss of grip right off the line.
The R made up for it, yes there was a turbo lag but you will feel (past the 4000rpm mark) the linear thrust that keeps your bum rooted to the back of the seat.
The R does feel a lot like a 50/50 weight distribution which you commonly feel in the BMW sports range. IMO handling corners on the 4motion AWD is absolute pleasure with its chasis balance and powering out from one you can immediately tell.
What I like
The AWD 4motion and balance of the car. A comfortable car to take your family around and somewhat of a beast hidden with it's subtle R badge.
What I do not like
Interior Styling could have been a whole lot better.
Sadly the GTI VI's EA888 engine has not made it into the Rs yet because of a lack of testing at the level of performance as of yet. Maybe the GOLF VII R will have it.
