Small engine for a big body | Posted on 30 May 2017 |

Review
Went to test drive the Citroen C4 Hatchback with a friend who is looking for a replacement for her old car which will be due for scrap in July. The torque is good for a 1.2turbo petrol engine with a body kerb weight of 1270kg. The car handle well on all corners of winding road which we test drive.
Being advice that the current model is using the Toyota Camry gearbox which we had less worries when the car aged. Fuel consumption will not matched those on paper as many factors are involved which varies it.
The boot space is good which is similar to most hatchback (SUV).
The basic model comes with fabric seat instead of leather and missing are the GPS (not really useful and safe when use from the 2DIN display) and the reversed camera (it would be handy for the car since the tailgate block most view from the rear).
Warranty cover 3 years/100,000km, 2 years free servicing.
With the promotion price of $92,999, it's consider a good buy. Only worries will be the wear and tear of the turbo engine when age.
What I like
The torque with only a 1.2turbo engine.
What I do not like
Basic model should include the reverse camera. GPS is not necessary since most of us are using the mobile phone apps nowadays and at least the mobile phone can be position at eye level with the road for safety reason.

Review
Nothing beats the finishes and road handling of this new roadster. Interior and exterior well defined and blending into the motion flow. Engine is sufficiently powered and 18" rim is going to grip the road in good state.
What I like
The safety features are exceptional that you don't find in other same category of car, especially the lane change warning and blind spot indicator.

I've been driving my 1.2L puretech turbo hatchback for 20 months now. It has been very reliable, frugal on FC, and smooth to drive.
What I like
- Cycle & Carriage servicing and warranty. I was lucky to get 5 years warranty and servicing (usually it's 3 years for servicing). They are quite professional and I haven't had to pay a cent for all 4 servicing so far. (My previous car with another brand, they keep calling me during servicing to ask me to change this and pay that!)
- the interior is much better than a lot of other cars. Soft touches.
- very frugal, 14.4Km/L with 75% highway use
- auto retract mirror on door lock
- digital cockpit! For this price, no other cars in this category has it.
- nice factory rims and bodykit for my premium model
- everything auto (headlights, wipers, aircon)
- the gearbox is Japanese Aisin 6 speed. Really perfect match with this puretech engine. Smooth to drive, can be fun and engaging too.
What I do not like
- boot is quite large. Would have preferred a small boot but more space in cabin
- no sunroof option
- no electric seats (can't complain at this price point I guesd)
