Review
Test-drove the diesel Captur for about 10 minutes. Stunning exterior and brightly coloured test vehicle was visually arresting.

There was a long waiting line to bring the small and colourfully-painted Gallic power-egg for a spin!

Driving position and mirrors are all easily adjustable to a comfortable position for most, if not all, drivers. Controls and start-buttons are all in their usual places.

What I like
Diesel engine didn't sound like one. Clatter wasn't present, even while stationary at lights. Power came in generous band and traffic lights jaunts would see it put bigger-engined cars to shame. In similar vein, NVH was excellent. no vibration discernible in the cabin at all at any time of the test drive.

Steering was crisp and planted, albeit at test-drive speeds of no more than 60km/h. Turning radius was good and U-turns were a cinch to execute, coupled with the scoopful of power available on foot.

Surprising likeable and arresting even, all from a short drive. Would be attractive to small families ( <2 children) or DINKs who want a life-style statement.

Technology such as the dual-clutch and sippy diesel is sufficiently interesting for early-adopters or boys who like their toys.

What I do not like
Cabin is plain and spartan even. Uniform black that shows lack of careful thought on the inside.

Cabin is also surprisingly cramped, especially at the back. Hence need to consider carefully the regular number of passengers carried.

Boot is dark and small, although that could be a visual 'trick' cos it was, again, uniformly black inside.

Test drove the car. Exterior looks quite unique and stylish. Have quite a few interesting colours to choose from. Handling, acceleration and interior are quite average. Drive felt like a normal Japanese Cat A sedan.

What I like
Exterior
Affordability
Fuel consumption

What I do not like
Average interior and handling
