Great Car, Lousy After Sales Service
Difficult to find 100 words to use about the services from Regent without slipping into the use of profanities.
All elements point to the fact that although I have been a life long fan of Ford I shall not be buying another one all the time Regent remains the local distributor here in Singapore.

Its been 6 months on since buying the 1.0T Focus Wagon and 10,000km has passed without a hitch. I have no regrets buying the car having compared the following cars:
- Kia Cerato K3
- Mitsubishi Attrage (Soul-less)
- Mazda 3
- Honda Fit
- Honda Freed
- Honda City
- Toyota
- Subaru XV
- Nissan QQ
- Actually every car within the 80k - 115k bracket at that point
The ecoboost 1.0 engine punches far above its weight and is truly impressive. While its not going to shatter any records going anywhere, you never really get the sense that the engine is struggling at any point. With some cars, you get the drone of the engine running out of breath. It could partly be due to the good sound proofing. For this price bracket, I can't see anything being a better drivers car (ok except the Subarus).
Its hard to give a 5 star rating on reliability since it is still new. To be determined!

I've the opportunity to rent a 2014 Ford focus for 2 weeks during an overseas holiday trip. I was given a 5 door hatch model and it's quite lacking in options due to the fact that it's a rental car.
Driving position is good, though the seats are a bit hard, decent boot space but cramped at the rear. It's an easy car to drive around town due to the responsive 6 speed DSG and direct steering although there's some shuddering of the gearbox during start/stop traffic.
Things get interesting once you get onto the twisty stuff, you'll be going faster and faster, turn after turn and I've totally forgotten that it's only 123bhp. Who says you need a serious performance car to have fun driving mountain passes. Overall, a good car with a terrific chassis to match.

I drove a Focus in Europe for a day, clocking 600km. The engine was a 120hp diesel and should be close in performance to the 1.0 petrol offered in Singapore.
The ride is on the firm side which I found very comfortable on highway but a bit shaky around town on uneven streets. The cabin is ok but nothing special about. Plastics are not great. Overall it feels a bit cheap. One think I did not like is the wide central console with sharp hard plastic at the edge. I tend to rest my leg against the console while driving on highway and it made that position very uncomfortable.
Where the car really shines is the road handling department. The amount of grip and the composure in tight bends is simply incredible, at least on dry roads. Understeer is quite limited and it is possible to nail the throttle early and exit real quick. The engine was punchy enough to have a bit of fun. I should try an RS one day. This must be a hell of a ride.

After one test drive on Jan 2017, decided to purchase it. Owned a Korean and Japanese car before. Nothing can compare to this. Space is small and compact but is powerful. Driving on a ford is very different compared to Korean and Japanese car.

Would recommend to anyone.
Amazing performance from this 3 cylinder engine
Only the lack of a built in GPS system in the Singapore offering lets it down. This is standard fitment when buying in Europe

Well I must say, that having owned both Japanese and Korean cars for the past 10 years, the Focus Hatchback is my first foray into continental cars. With the COE hovering slightly above 50k, it was a good time to let go of my Altis.
I've just clocked 1k mileage and my family and I just enjoy every ride. A continental car truly handles with greater assurance and doesn't feel like a tin can.

Just collected my Focus Hatch 1.0 Ecoboost few days back. For the price, features are very updated, audio system has really good sound quality, bi-xenon with folow-me-home lights. Performance wise, wile driving u wont believe its a 3cylinder 1.0, 5 really fat people(including me) in the car and still managed to jump to 90km/h(maybe it was a little more) in just a few seconds. Extremely torquey for a 1.0.

Have driven the Focus MKII pre-FL and FL as well as the 2009 Mondeo. I must say that the current Focus is the most refined Focus ever. It is really quiet inside as compared to previous Focus models and the suspension is optimal - firm handling through corners yet not too hard when cruising.
It is a really good looking car and stands out from the crowd especially with the outstanding front grille.
Steering can be a bit heavy during parking, but works best when cornering or at high speeds.
Transmission is not as quick as VW's DSG, but still works well.

Honestly Ford brand has never been in my list of cars to look out for but my view has changed after the test drive of Ford Focus.
First and foremost, I felt the engine is powerful and I could feel the force when I starts off, probably because of its high torque. It surpassed all the other cars which I had test drove this week.
Rather attractive exterior but the interior looks boring. Despite being a 1.0l car, the dimension of the car is not small and the interior is quite spacious. I am quite disappointed of Ford HQ's stuck up attitude of rejecting local AD's proposal to include GPS in their info system.
The seats are locally fitted but it looks better than Qashqai or Carens.
The car comes with 6 airbags and EURO NCAP certified. The car has other features that comes in modern cars like auto wiper, lights, cruise control. It's headlights will bend in the direction, following the car's turning to provide better visual to the road ahead. Bluetooth to connect to mobile.
Currently, comes with 3 yrs free servicing.

Bought the Focus 1.0 about a month back.
I really enjoyed driving this car around, esp on the highway. Compared to my previous 1.6A ride, it offers more torque and power.
Driven 2000km so far and its fuel consumption is at 12.2km/l, slightly better than my previous 1.6A. I think it is going to hit 13km/l which is not great for a 1.0L car, but I am pretty satisfied as my daily commune to work is 60% Traffic jam.

Test drove the new FF Hatchback Titanium 1.0T Ecoboost today.
First impressions - car's front grille looks like a Maserati; Solid build and doors are heavy; Interior well gadget out.
Even though car is only 1L, it doesn't lack in power. Even though it is slow to start off from a full stop, it soon shows its power from 3rd gear on. Seems there is truth to claim that it is as or more powerful than a 1.6L car. Smooth drive with good handling. Gear change hardly discernible. Not a lot of roll. No problems at all climbing uphill with 4 adults in the car.
Spacious interior for a hatch. I want the width (shoulder space) and length (leg room) and it has both. I went next door (shared building with Peugeot) to sit in a Peugeot 308 and the 308 felt tighter in both width and length.
Gadget wise it is mostly tricked out. From button start to light sensor rearview mirror, to cruise and bluetooth, etc. Etc. Only the front seats are not electric but manual adjustments, and no moon/sun roof.
Not bad overall for a Germany made car, but I do wish the price was cheaper.

Test drove the Focus, interior is elegant looking yet features are nothing to shout about. Nice handling and quiet cabin.
Love the design.

Over the weekend, i took the chance to test drive the Ford Focus. The model I drove was a hatchback.
First impressions, the equipment in the car is fairly standard and what i expect in most cars these days. One cool feature was the rain sensing wipers, which gave me a little shock when it first came on. Other than that, nothing particularly out of the ordinary, but well equipped nonetheless. The car is comfortable to sit in too. However, for a hatchback, the boot is really quite lacking and is pretty small.
The driving experience was a rather strange one. On one hand, the car handles brilliantly. It feels sharp, steering is light and precise, the car rides very well, doesn't really move around much. At highway speeds it still feels very assured and stable. All in all a fairly brilliant drive. On the other hand, the engine is just disappointing. I've tried an eco-boost ford once, and it just works so much better even with a much smaller engine. The engine in this focus feels sluggish and lacking, which is a real pity. The car drives so well, i just wish it had a better engine to do it justice.
