Bought a countryman and loving it every single day. Although it's a crossover but it still handles well when negotiating bend. XOS note is sweet and even better when u toggle it to sport mode.

Have owned some conti cars before mini and I have to say after sales service is really top notch from Eurokars.

Fun to drive compact SUV  Posted on 22 Jan 2023

This car handles well and drive like a car despite that it is a SUV. I own the Cooper S version and I am loving it. Though not as big as other SUVs externally, but the interior is ironically quite spacious. Exhaust note is sweet and sporty and it manoeuvres very well even on winding roads. Interior quality is premium abd the car is well specs. Exterior is unique and pleasing and it's design stands out from the rest of the SUVs. The cabin is pretty quiet. Overall it is a great and fun car to drive.

Test drove this model recently. I must say it caters to a niche market. Buyers who want something distinctive, but at the same time not missing out the practicality and handling. Definitely not hot-blooded, "Civil" Is a better word to describe it. It does not have the WOW factor, but is worthy of serious consideration given its positive attributes.

What I like
1. Comfortable dimensions for city driving, but yet very roomy. Headroom is very generous, especially at the front.
2. 2 litre engine is quite adequate, though can't say it's fast. Engine sound is nice to hear.
3. Cooper S version has nice trims and bodykit. Plenty of customization options provided by AD.
4. Useful features such as electric tailgate, electronic parking brake, wireless Apple car play, 2 memories for front seat.
5. Nice console with control switches that look like you are in a plane.
6. Warranty and servicing package provided by AD is quite competitive.

What I do not like
1. Noise insulation can be better, but maybe it's too much to expect of a car that is positioned to be "fun".
2. Slight body roll when going through bends, probably due to it's taller stance as a mini SUV. Not a serious issue though.
3. Pricing is quite rigid. There are several worthy competitors at this price level.
4. Does not provide a hot-hatch feel, but more skewed towards comfort. Not exactly the most comfortable either. This is the problem when trying to balance too many factors.
5. Resale value may not be fantastic given its niche market.

Test drove a few options before settling on this. Never regretted it since we collected ours! BMW X1 is a let down for us. There is absolutely no premium feel once you step inside. Just the badge only. Esp rear passengers was totally uncomfortable. It's noisy, rough and unrefined. The new Merc GLA also lacks the oomph and the rear passenger side is not premium enough. It boils down to Audi Q3 and this. In the end we made our YOLO based decision to go for the Countryman S version. Q3 can wait till we see older!

What I like
Both exterior and interior finishing and design top notch
Many features and benefits
A few pleasant "hidden" surprises from Mini when you go deeper into understanding the car
Mini dealer here Eurokars really nailed it in terms of overall package, during and after sales experience. With the price package of $188k now, it's totally worth it compared to all other conti or luxury model in terms of attention to details and customer experience. Well done Eurokars.
Parking Assist
Engine performance and ride
Premium leather feel
Fun and engaging drive
Awesome infotainment system and interface
Surprisingly good rear space and boot space for a Mini
People who chose this car will likely factor in fun and YOLO as a consideration. Otherwise for the practical folks, go for the usual German marques

What I do not like
There is a bit of engine noise and road noise but not as serious as the X1. My experience is more like a sporty crossover feel.
Maybe the Mini brand conjures an image of not-so-good resale value but I think overall demand for such models are still good. You'll need to do your own market research. But then it's YOLO!

The Mini Cooper S Countryman feels pretty similar to the Countryman, with a few enhancements. It's got more power, which you feel right away. This car still retains much of the Mini DNA (fun to drive small cars). Although it can be argued that it really isn't that mini.

I do like the added space though. As a family man, I have a wife, three kids and a dog. I can keep the little rascals in the back seat comfortable with little effort. Ride comfort is a little stiff but it does handle well and interior refinement is top notch.

What I like
Interior refinement
Still fun to drive
Spacious

What I do not like
Doesn't really look like a Mini anymore
