Posting my thoughts here after 8 months of ownership.

I own the Luxury model as I see the value in paying for the difference over the Elegance model. Some may think its not worth the money, but I am one who believes in getting the highest spec possible for a car so that you can enjoy the car fully like what the designers have in mind.

Being a CUV, ride height is slightly taller than a normal sedan allowing for easy entry and exit. At the wheel though, you hardly feel the height which I find it a plus point as I was once very against owning SUVs or CUvs. This is a good compromise for folks who still love traditional sedans.

The best part about the car is actually the refined interior which is important since you spend the most time in it. Soft touch materials are used generously on visible areas and they feel really high quality. The interior lighting is just the right colour tone like what the Mazda promotional videos mentioned. One starts appreciating all these attention to details when using the car daily.

Overall refinement is excellent too, with very quiet ride which is important after a long day at work. Road noises are muted and the only audible sound is probably the engine which can be noisy when revved hard.

The safety systems are really useful especially if you are tired from your work. The blindspot alert is a godsend feature especially when on the roads with motorbikes that just suddenly appear. The automatic emergency braking works too as I had mine triggered when a person just dashed by as I was reversing my car.

I have so far clocked about 8000+km on the car and done my servicing at TEK. The experience was fortunately unlike the horror stories I read on the forums. The 10,000km service took about 4h to complete which is typical for most authorised dealers.

Sure, there are cheaper and more practical options available. The CX-30 buyer would know exactly what he/she is paying for and appreciates the car for what it is. Go for the luxury model if your budget allows. The 16 inch wheels just doesn't suit the car.

What I like
- Styling (though I think this might be subjective)
- BOSE sound system that makes even the FM radio sound good
- Quiet interior when cruising or under light throttle
- Intelligent 6 speed auto that always finds the right gear
- Sunroof (never owned a car with sunroof before, so its a novelty for me)

What I do not like
- Engine gets noisy at high revs or full throttle
- High road tax due to 2.0l engine
- Steering wheel could be smaller and requires more turns than most cars

If you're looking at an CUV with a huge rear space - this won't be the car for you - But if you're in for a well refined vehicle that punches way about it's weight for similar CUVs, this is the car you should be looking at.

Well built interior with all the bells and whistles. Stiffer than other spongy CUVs but each to it's own.

Best advise is to test drive it yourself rather than hearing what other people have to say about the car.

What I like
Well built

What I do not like
Plastic cladding. urgh

VFM in the segment (though not the cheapest)

CX30 drive really well, and very comfy interior. It is a huge step forward for Mazda.

Looking forward to future products

What I like
- Exterior & Interior Styling
- Well thought out cabin layout
- Sunroof
- Bose Sound System (People who appreciate audio will appreciate these as STOCK)
- N/A in-line4 DOHC Engine (No turbo to worry about)
- Old fashion but Smooth 6Speed AT
- Safety Features
- Superb Noise insulation
- Android Auto / Apple Carplay (Works like a charm)

What I do not like
- No extra USB ports for the rear passengers

The interior looks amazingly luxury, comes with leather all around. Drive and handling is ok. Lots of safety feature included like blind spot monitoring, smart braking, lane departure warning, 360 camera and adaptive cruise control. FC is about 11km/l for 2 litre engine.

What I like
-Dual Tone Interior
-Full fledge Safety Features
-360 Camera
-Walk away lock
-Bose Sound System
-Android Auto/Carplay

What I do not like
-Paint Chip easily
-Interior glossy panel and display scratches easily

Very surprised on how refined and well-built the interior is. It can rival luxury brands like Lexus for a much lower price. A lot of tech like blind-spot monitoring, smart braking, radar cruise control, auto everything. Not a bad drive but the engine can get noisy at higher revs.

What I like
- Superb interior
- A lot of gadgets at Luxury trim
- 360 camera
- Bose sound system can really ROCK!

What I do not like
- The black cladding on the exterior can be polarizing
- Engine is noisy at higher revs
