Been drive my Skoda Octavia Style for few days, this car is extremely awesome. Pick up speed and torque speed is super powerful. Skoda Octavia is my Best car I have owned. This car is very specious and car performance is so much better than expected. Skoda is a bread and butter car. Car is so much better as compare to other car brand. Super love this car and highly recommend.

The Skoda Octavia is the bread-and-butter car, from a pretty bread-and-butter brand that want to appeal to the practical-minded person.
How do you think it performs?
What I like
Yes, there's space, plenty of it. You know how it is. There's also a very interesting use of cloth on the dashboard, which has been decluttered so everything's now housed within the infotainment system.
Those more used to premium brand interiors will find it all a bit empty. But I say its all really great when you're done with work and would rather just sit in and drive home. Minimal distractions, nothing to fuss about. Just acres of fabric.
Mild-hybrid system is excellent. Gutsy enough to push the car along, economical when you're not legging it. Turn the air-conditioning to a more relaxed setting and the mild hybrid will shut down the engine quite often, allowing the car to quietly coast along and retain as much momentum as it can. Makes for a rather entertaining drive feature in itself really.
What I do not like
Skoda's prices here have been steadily climbing upwards.

Great driving experience. Exactly the same good feelings on both Audi A3 & entry level Bimmer.
What I like
Exterior Appearance very pleasing to the eyes, should not get sick easily after years
Latest top notch Spec. wont lose out much comparison against audiA3
Motion sensor/ Hey skoda Voice control/ Big lovely screen
Swallowing 5x golf bag / throw in 4x bicycles no issue at all - loved it
Quick fast responsive takeoff even On Normal mode Shiok!
Powerful 1.5-litre turbo Charged engine148bhp.7spd DSG dual clutches
Very Quiet cabin when on coasting ETEC engine / 48-volt Battery system kick in perhaps
Verdict: Cant wait, Will Go {BUY}
What I do not like
Dynamic on sport mode but not so Precise & felt kind of soft when fast sharp Cornering turnings
Made in Czech factory not made in Germany
No much enhancement needed except changing to a new set of German suspensions
Smooth mild hybrid tech for the Skoda Octavia | Posted on 03 Apr 2022 |

Review
The new Skoda Octavia now comes with body creases that melt into the grille design, as well as a sport rear, a far cry from the boxy, industrial Octavias of old. Yummy.
What I like
There's an excellent mild hybrid system under this Octavia. Start/stop cycles are barely felt, and if you turn the air-conditioning off the engine will happily coast, saving fuel and making the Octavia one quiet highway cruiser.
What I do not like
Interior can look a little spartan, and if you don't like having fabric here, you're tough out of luck.

The Skoda Octavia has ditched the old factory-stamped design for something that is now has a very sleek and cohesive.
A comfortable and practical fastback overall.
What I like
1.5-litre turbocharged unit is not only properly gutsy but also very smooth. More so in fact, than what I remember of the Scala.
The suspension is also very soft and compliant. So if you like your cars with that floaty smooth sensation when you're accelerating on the highway this is it right here.
Mild-hybrid tech is also excellent. You coast almost everywhere and the car will nearly always turn off the engine every time you let go of the accelerator if you have the air-con off. Very impressive.
What I do not like
The cabin can look a little basic now that all the controls are hidden within the central touchscreen or touch-sensitive buttons. So you get a very sleek interior.
Skoda shows its more practical side here I guess.

The new model has solved the less attractive rear view found in older models and retained all the other good aspects of the car.
1. Nice drive even in normal mode. Spirited drive in sports mode.
2. Great legroom for driver and passengers.
3. Well thought through items like wireless mobile phone charging even with my thick protective phone case on.
4. Humongous boot to fit 4 large suitcases or probably 4 golf bags.
5. Sound insulation is fantastic.
6. Nice sound system.
7. Cruise control and auto hold.
8. Signature umbrella holders for front seats.
9. Pay less than $700 annual road tax and enjoy decent powered car.
10. 5 years servicing and 1 year road tax
11. Front and back cameras.
12. Assuring drive with solid build.
What I like
As above.
The sales person Nicholas Lim was a joy to do the drive with. Knowledgeable and took time to explain to me. Good job!
What I do not like
Would be nice if had the following:
1. Auto lit mirrors (not essential).
2. Auto tailgate (no big deal, easily pull down with the handle).

In a competitive market with the new generation Hyundai Avante (Elantra), Mazda 3 and Toyota Corolla Altis, why would someone pay the premium (partly due to it's Cat B horsepower) for a continental that's not one of the household brands?
In terms of features, 2021 Hyundai Avante's got it beat (sunroof, wireless Apple carplay and Android auto, and ventilated seats), at a more competitive price point. Avante's longer wheelbase means more rear passenger room too.
But the Octavia wins in terms of how solid and reliable it's built to be in an accident, the responsiveness of the engine, smooth negotiation of bends and humps, ergonomics of the seats, the understated luxurious cockpit and massive 600L boot space, and a sound system with ample bass. Last but not least, the aesthetics. It's exterior design (which matches the language and style of the interior) makes it look quietly sophisticated with all the functionality and practicality of a family sedan.
Just test drive it - and you'll understand.
What I like
- how solid and reliable it's built to be in an accident,
- the responsiveness of the engine when you accelerate. Mild hybrid Start/Stop saves fuel, but also makes the transition from the engine starting and stopping to be nigh impossible to discern.
- smooth negotiation of bends and humps
- ergonomics/shape of the seats
- the understated luxurious cockpit
- massive 600L boot space for families
- a sound system with ample bass
- The exterior design (which matches the language and style of the interior) makes it look quietly sophisticated with all the functionality and practicality of a family sedan.
What I do not like
- strong engine puts it in Car B despite being 1.5L, hence higher price point due to existing COE prices
- It actually has great rear passenger space, but this is stated here because Avante beats it at a lower price point
- No electric powered seats due to mild hybrid battery under the driver seat.

Skoda Octavia is my best car I have own. Among 5 cars i have own within 3 years, Skoda is the best as the Performance is awesome and fuel efficiency is excellence. Drove a bmw before and Skoda have taken over bmw in my heart. Skoda is a good family sedan car. Car design is very nice and suitable for a long term drive without getting tired of the car. Highly recommend Octavia.
