Review Went down to Jack Cars on 9 Jan to take a look at this car. I must say the ZR-V is really well built. However, what irked me was the lack of full leather seats. It was a deal breaker.
I have since gone on to ask for a custom preorder through Car Vault, and should receive the Z grade e:HEV in premium crystal blue metallic around early October 2024. At the current 105k Cat B COE, the whole car costs $225,888.
Shift by wire is one push factor for me. And so is the very strong hybrid powertrain, the same one I had in the US when I drove the 2023 Accord Hybrid. I know the power of that powertrain, and know for sure that I can clear junctions with ease here, of course while making sure not to speed above speed limit because of TP activating speed detection in RLCs from Q2 2024.
184hp and 315Nm of torque. Dominate any road, and leave any normal car beside you in the dust.
Coming from a Honda Fit (4th Gen, MY 2021), this is a godsend. Almost double the hp, and massive gains to torque, plus instant torque due to the dual electric motors. All within a manageable package. I've driven the Merc C180 W205 and Volvo S60 T2, and can manage those sizes, so this isn't an issue given it's only 4570mm long.
What I like 10 airbags, better than my Fit's 6 airbags
184hp powertrain with 315Nm instant torque from 0 rpm to 3000rpm
Flat rear floor for passengers in the back row
12V socket at the back
360° Multiview Camera in-built
Wireless Charging Pad
Piano Black glossy door frames
Cornering LED Lights
Boot Door Lights (only found on the Z grade)
Chrome Dual Exhaust Inserts (can rival Conti cars already)
Memory seats (only for driver side) and electric seats for the front seats [only found on the Z grade]
12 Speaker BOSE System (hope it doesn't disappoint!)
What I do not like Smoll boot space of 380L, not that much more than my current Fit which gives only 306L (however the length is longer, so I can be more creative with taller items such as guitars and basses)
No Heads-up Display
No sunroof
Review Went down to Jack Cars on 12/1 to take a look at this car. It was indeed premium and costed the same price as the Civic 1.5 turbo at the time of the pricing. It has since gone up.
Inside, it is indeed more premium than the MIT Civic with metal pedal shifters, soft touch materials in the rear and front. Shift by wire as the car has no gearbox. 185hp and 315nm of torque from the e:HEV system is very powerful. 380L Boot with 10 airbags, Full Honda Sensing w/ Low Speed Follow, completely flat floor at the rear seats make this a very spacious, comfortable and safe car despite its small size.
What I like - 10 airbags for a car at the time, cheaper than the MIT Civic Turbo
- 185hp Hybrid, powerful for my needs
- flat rear floor for passengers
- Shift-by-wire gear selector vs the gear lever in MIT cars
- Feels more premium that Volkswagen/Audi
What I do not like - No Tonneau Cover
- 4-speaker
- No original head unit and need a 3rd party one.
- Due to non-original head unit, no multi-angle reverse camera & 360-degree camera found on MIJ X-spec models
