tested the b180. ride quality was fantastic. I didnt like the car initially but my dad's enthusiasm in it over the cla made me a little disappointed but somehow managed to convince me for a test drive.
As soon as i sat in it, I couldnt help but was impressed with the interior quality. Despite being an entry level merz, the interior gives a posh feeling, which i think is better than the cla in comparison. Build quality is good.
Although one thing which i didnt like was the thick bezzel of the screen. it makes the console looks backdated although one can opt for a higher spec model that comes with a larger screen.
As soon as i shift down the gear lever beside the steering wheel and start stepping on the accelerator, i got more impressed with the car. We drove out of the showroom , u-turn towards alexandra. Considering its size, the car was nimble and managed to u-turn with very little turning radius.
As someone who stays around the corner, i know exactly how bumpy the roads are. Despite this, What returned from the car was a posh ride which far exceeded my expectations. Also, the car doesn't seem to lack muscles, i was constantly monioring my rpm gauge and didnt see the necessity to step pass 1.1k rpm, which puts my golf sports to shame.
One thing i would like to point out about the start stop function, not sure about other merz, but the start stop function on the b180 was subtle and doesn't feel harsh.
The car definitely handles much better than it looks like.
What I like
handling
posh ride
good quality interior
doesnt seem to lack power despite its 122hp engine
What I do not like
if only it can look more aggressive like a cla or a class.
Screen bezzel on the b180 looks clumsy and backdated

Definitely a facelift, cum overhaul of both internal and exterior compared to the older versions of Mercs B-Class.
What I like
1.the ECO, HOLD feature, which is so cool to know that nothing you have to do extra when you are at junction except a step on the adaptive break
2. handling of the steering is very smooth
3. GPS that comes along is pretty useful and user friendly
4. luggage cover which is useful for hot weather like Singapore
5. blue tooth integration is well integrated and works well
6. bi-xenon headlamps design are beautiful - like a shy girl with great eyelash
What I do not like
1. the control knob is not in a position where your wrist can control well
2. there is no air-con vent on the 2nd row which is quite disappointing for a merc car considering the positioning of B-Class as a baby mpv
3. slow start of the car when the 'P' sign is somewhat still lingering around
4. the gear lever which is no longer the traditional 'stick' but now near the steering wheel - could be a mix up sometimes with the wiper
5. the headlight function somewhat didn't have the manual switch off function - very annoying esp when you don't need it
6. during ECO function, passengers in the car will be too hot esp Singapore weather

Excellent car. Price of 1.6 for the performance of 2. Roomy interior though the boot size could be better.
Took delivery of the car a week ago. Have been enjoying since then. Mine is the sport package so the ride is firm which is what I like. The lighting is very nice and will make some heads turn. The Active Park Assist is state-of-the-art though the actual practicality may be doubtful; good for those who are not good at parallel parking though.
The dashboard is very very nice, a leapfrog from the first generation. The gear lever position took a bit of getting used to.
The car is very stable. There was some body roll to the test car (the sport package) at cornering so I thought I would need a struct bar. But my actual car doesn't seem to display that - not sure why. Many reviews indicated that the ride for the Sport package is too firm to be comfortable; the Chrome package is better. I personally prefer the sport one as the car is much more stable with firmer suspensions, lower springs and bigger rims.
The fuel consumption appears not favorable though - 11 km/l, which hopefully should improve after the run-in.
Overall a very satisfactory car. Congratulations Merc. Finally they get the SUV/MPV type of version right.
What I like
Feature rich - one would need a long piece of paper to list them down.
The Active Parking Assist is exceptionally impressive.
I particularly like the HOLD and ECO functions.
The full auto lighting simply takes the full control of the exterior lighting - very convenient especially for those who habitually forget to switch on the headlights due to the fact that Singapore roads are generally well lid.
What I do not like
Limited choice of colors.
No alarm as standard. No "car finder" function. No keyless entry, nor push start.
The relatively high position of the brake pedal really takes me some time to get used to. During the test-drive, I simply couldn't brake properly.
There is no "off" for the auto lighting! The lighting is controlling the driver, not the other way round. Even the auto wiper can be turned off, but not the exterior lighting!
ECO could be a double sword - at hot days the cabin would be hot and stuffy! The feature also makes the cabin temperature fluctuate quite a bit especially when you have many passengers in the car in a hot day.

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class (codename W245) is a small family car introduced by German automaker Mercedes-Benz in March 2005. It is essentially an enlarged A-Class keeping the same engine and suspension system. Like the A-Class, and unlike any other vehicle Mercedes builds or has built, the B-Class is a front wheel drive vehicle. The latest Mercedes-Benz B-Class concept , presented this year at the Motor Show in Paris will be an electric car.
Mercedes-Benz describes this vehicle as a Compact Sports Tourer instead of hatchback or multi-purpose vehicle, like its R-Class model, which is called a Grand Sports Tourer.

Am probably the first few to collectthe B200 for my wife usage last week. It is a 1.6 Benz turbo engine .
Overall, we feel personally that it finally worth wearing the MB badge as compared to earlier B model. Good for small or young family, but youngster may want to wait for the new A class next year before deciding !
( similar interior but outlook even more sportier)
Driving -Acceleration pretty smooth and engine is pretty refined( could be due to the well insulated cabin).Slight turbo lag at certain driving circumtances but not significant to take note of
Nutshell -Not a sport car but assured and comfortable drive for a family type MPV ( could partly due to longer wheelbase and lower height.)
Not sure whether Singapore will bring in B250 with higher HP of 200+
Sport package, with lower suspension and Direct Steerin seems not as comfortable as the chrome package. The later have better foreign reviews than former
What I like
1) Very nice interior /design complement well with nice ambience lighting
2) Well equipped with tonnes of high end safety features
3) Refined engine and "volvo like" enclosed cabin feel- cozy and safe sitting in. Comfortable ride( but slightly less for the sport version one, 5 )
4) Outside sound is well insulated as compared to earlier model.
5) Very very spacious
6) Improved design outlook ( as compared to earlier model)
7) pretty decent smooth 7 DCT
What I do not like
1) Eco start/stop, though smooth as compared to other conti , but still lags back the Jap's smoothness- better to off the function while driving
2) Slow acceleration at the start ( thereafter will be ok though once the turbo kick in)
3) pretty low OMW for a Benz model( could be due to 1.6 engine probably or low Euro xchge rate)
