Kia Cerato 1.6 GT Line vs Seat Toledo 1.4 TSI DSG Style
28 May 2019  |  Kia Reviews
The Kia Cerato is the sportier-looking and better-appointed one of the two, but the Seat Toledo offers a more zippy experience for a lot less money.

Review
A concise review from me:

Test-drove and, overall, did not disappoint in view of its respective price tags.

Love the exterior styling though front- and rear-bumpers could be built less rugged-looking in order to better mesh with chassis contours. Creativity for signal lights @ Bumpers. Interior design and features wise, no major qualms. In particular, contrary to some, I welcome the stand-up touch-screen.

The drive was decently up to expectations. Acceleration can be better due to engine reuse from predecessor. Reliability, no comments till prolonged usage.

Booked a unit after test-drive.

What I like
Most of what it is.

What I do not like
Acceleration and engine refinement.

Test drove the new Kia Cerato 4th generation car (SX model) and it feels superb! Very light steering wheel, comfort electric seats and the infotainment is fantastic.

Interior design in the front seat is modern and yet functional to driver with large 8 inch infotainment screen. Multi-zone aircon with rear aircon.

In the backseat, more than enough legroom though the headroom is much lesser so might be a problem for people around 175cm and above. Rear aircon to cool down the backseats.

And the car boot...Omg. HUGE! I was wondering how am i ever going to fill the boot up! Too bad it doesnt have electric tailgate (auto open all the way and auto close button not available).

The drive is smooth and relative more quiet than my current KIA forte first generation and Renault Megane. However, the acceleration power remains slow even if you step in all the way. I have been driving a few different KIAs in my life (KIA Cerato Forte 2009, Forte 2010, KIA Rio, KIA Carens), i would safely say their cars generally have not much problems. No major parts changed in my years of driving.

What I like
8 inch infotainment system
Driver electric seat
Modern Exterior
Multizone Aircon
Rear Aircon
Large Boot

What I do not like
Acceleration is dull
Lack of electric tailgate
Lack of electronic parking button (now still a handbrake)

Test drive SX model last weekend. Pick up is surprisely better than the predecessor. Exterior and interior had improve its 8" Display unit. However, lack of navigation is a minus for the size of the display unit. Rear fog light is redundant in Singapore context. Overall, it's a comfort drive. Hopefully the next Cerato will come with navi and improve even better in every aspect. Keep up the good work KIA.

What I like
Almost everything.

What I do not like
The KIA..Maybe just change to 'K' in future to represent its logo.
