Went down to Alexandra showroom with my friend to repair his remote.
Got a chance to take a look at this K3.
It actually surprised me if its features and styling.
I'm personally driving a conti car, what i can say, KIA has definitely improved alot in its quality and styling
What I like
- DRL
- Interior upholstery (top quality)
- packed with so many features! (might need some time to use everything)
- 6 speed gearbox that produce better power and FC
- Keyless entry (some conti cars don't even have)
What I do not like
- Disgusted price thanks to our high COE
Under sedan category is the most comfortable! | Posted on 01 Dec 2013

When i first look at the car I was mesmerised by the exterior rear brake light , which able to give all angle view. Moreover, the front grille looks fierce and gives a feel like fast and furious car and makes people turn their head to see this beautiful car.
What I like
What I really like is the interior. It got the euro luxury sedan car design which have air con duct at the rear of the arm rest to ensure the back passengers enjoy the cool air too. Moreover, the driver seat is also comes with this feature that able to blow air out from the seat to makes the driver back area dry.
What I do not like
Basically I hardly able to point the things I do not like able this sedan car. If really wanted to point something out then it would be the fuel consumption is a bit heavy. Overall it is an amazing car with packed features and comfortable design.

Test drove this new look Cerato (its previous name) sometime back.
First looks, the exterior styling is nice looking and you can almost mistook it as a conti design if not for its badge at close look.
Comes with 17" sporty rims which is ok to me...curvy headlights gives the feel of sportiness too.
Inside, its a surprise that K3 actually comes with rear aircon which are usually present in conti makes, nice...
Features wise, START/STOP, LED lights, Welcome lightings, Driver electric seats are some of those I fancy which rarely can find in an Asian make car.
The drive was ok but kinda noisy in some gear shifts. Also, not much power to this car when you throttle as well, might end up having increase fuel consumption if keep throttle due to this.
A basic need car for day to day from point A to B. Not to expect any speedo overtaking when throttle.
Overall, a good featured car but lacks the power to do overtake or other uses.
What I like
Rear Aircon (first seen in Asian cars)
Welcome lightings
Interior looks
What I do not like
Not much power
Not a vroom car but does the daily job really well | Posted on 07 Nov 2013

I've had the k3 for about 3 months now and I like it. It's not a vroom car but it certainly does the daily job well. I'm 70 percent on highway and I get 7.9l per 100km, despite our jammy highways. Got this car at launch so was a pretty good price. Heard new batches will not have reverse cameras. The best deals were those 20-30 ppl who booked before me and secured their cars at fixed 95k, at coe of 78k!!
What I like
Huge boot, keyless entry and start/stop. HID lamps and DRLs are nice. Leather seats are good. Ventilated seats super for Singapore weather. 2 memory seat settings. Reverse camera helps somewhat but best to still depend on your own judgement. Nice fuel economy. Good leg room for 3 adults at back. Doors open really wide. Pretty good cabin sound insulation (despite the noisy nexen tires).
What I do not like
You cannot switch off the DRLs at all. The Aircon system, when put on auto mode, is incredibly stupid. It actually alternates between fresh and circulate... This is bad in Singapore where we are always stuck in jams and breathing fumes. Overcame this by manually adjusting fan speed. The temp set is automatic and doesn't give problems. Finally, the nexen tires are quite noisy... Last ditch effort to save money by C&C...

The Plus:
Sleek exterior with sharp looks from the front due to tiger grills
Sporty seat position
Buttons on the steering wheel which makes everything very convenient
Spacious interior for a family of 5
Bootspace is adequate (3 large luggages)
Smooth acceleration and acceptable noise level even at high speeds (legal limits)
Steering wheel is firm on the drive which makes me feel like im in full control (unlike the other korean competitor)
Suspension is tuned for comfort on the bumpy roads of Singapore
Fuel tank is big for a 1.6L car (longer refuel time but less stopovers needed)
Easy to park and control
Customisation options
The Negatives:
Central Dashboard (Radio) area can still be improved. It is still alittle "plasticky" and the controls feels cheap.
Lack of performance variant option (2.0l/1.8l etc)
Nice ride :) | Posted on 23 Aug 2013

Review
Was car hunting in the past few months. tested a few different makes.
Once i test drove the KiaForte K3, i was attracted by the amount of features and level of options available in the Forte K3. Comfort level was a great improvement compared to the previous gen forte.
What I like
Pros : Loved the ventilated & electrical memory seats, Flex steering, Improved insulation compared to the previous generation forte and quietness of the overall cabin and many more. Attractive Taillamps and HID/DRL all came as standard. Cabin feel and quality improved dramatically compared to the previous generation too. 6 speed gear shifts with ease.
What I do not like
Cons : would be nice if the K3 had 1.6 TC just like the soon to be launched Koup TC.
Neutral : FC - still running in for first 1k therefore cant judge much. Reliability cant judge as car is still new.
