IMPACT in Bangkok is one of Asia's largest and most modern exhibition and convention centres and this is where Motor Image, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the region, introduced the all new Legacy and Outback.
25 years on since its original release back in 1989, the new sixth generation Legacy succeeds in blending design and engineering that offers functional and emotional value.
The new Legacy sports a dynamic look, with its body-integrated hexagonal grille complemented by new hawk-eye LED headlights. Sharp contour lines throughout the body raise the class for the refined sport sedan. The new model also features a sporty, sophisticated interior and an infotainment system for a more enjoyable in-car experience.
Propelled by Subaru's signature Boxer engine with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive in either 2.5-litre (Singapore market) or 3.6-litre versions, mid-range torque was increased to give drivers a responsive ride that is also light and comfortable for everyday driving. The engine is mated to a CVT Lineartronic transmission that provides drivers with smoother shifting, better driveability and a quieter ride.
On the other hand, the crossover variant of the Legacy, the all new Outback features a distinct look with a bold, rugged body shape and muscular fenders that seeks to attract even buyers of sedans.
As well as enhancements to the external look of the vehicle, reduction in wind resistance has been achieved by improving airflow over the rear, which also makes a major contribution to reduced fuel consumption at high speeds. Interior materials have been carefully selected to achieve a high level of quality befitting Subaru's flagship crossover vehicle.
Similarly, Subaru's flagship crossover model is also powered by a redesigned 2.5-litre Boxer engine paired with a CVT Lineartronic gearbox, giving drivers an enjoyable ride regardless of the terrain.
In addition to Subaru's unique Symmetrical AWD system, the new Outback is equipped with X-Mode, capable of enhancing driving performance on uneven roads through optimised integrated control of engine, four-wheel drive, braking, and other functions on slippery surfaces.
Both cars also feature Subaru's Active Torque Vectoring, which monitors the path of the car and apply braking pressure to either front wheel as required to help reduce wheel spin and sharpen handling.
The all new Legacy and Outback will be available for booking from April 2015 in Singapore.
