Toyota's Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS) uses clearance sonar technology to detect obstacles during sudden acceleration caused by pedal misapplication, which helps to mitigate damages caused by collision. The Alphard, Vellfire and Prius, which have been equipped with the ICS, have been given additional sensors and an increased detection range.
