The new Mazda CX-5, which began sales in Japan last month, has already sold 16,639 units - seven times more than its monthly sales quota.

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that starting from November, it will produce the all new Mazda CX-5 crossover Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) at the Hofu Plant in Yamaguchi prefecture in Japan; in addition to the Hiroshima Plant where it is currently produced. The move will help the carmaker respond quickly and flexibly to the growing global demand for SUVs.

Managing Executive Officer Masatoshi Maruyama, who is in charge of Global Production, said, "Following the CX-3, the CX-5 will also be produced at Hofu to create a flexible production system between the factories. We will do our utmost to further respond to customer requests and to respond more quickly to requests for crossover vehicles from customers."

Mazda will continue to enrich its customers' lives through various points of contact with them and aim to become a brand with special bonds with customers.
