The new Corolla Sport makes its debut as a first generation connected car, connecting people, communities, and cars, while offering individually tailored services for safety, security, comfort, and convenience. This is achieved with the new T-Connect service that uses Toyota's Data Communication Module, also available in the newly launched Crown.

The new Corolla Sport has a wide stance, giving it a dynamic style that radiates to the rear
Together with the Crown, the Corolla Sport is built on Toyota's New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, which incorporates a drivetrain that focuses on having a low centre of gravity.

This allows the car to have a wide aerodynamic stance, with a low hood and sharp-looking head lights flowing from the upper grille. Aside from added driving dynamics, the TNGA platform also lowers the height of the instrument panel and opens up the interior.

The spacious interior is decorated with coordinated silver accessories and black panels, including a centrally located 7.0-inch TFT multi-information display.

Toyota Safety Sense, now in its second generation, also comes as standard in all Corolla Sport models.

The preventive safety package includes, a pre-collision safety system that detects pedestrians and bikes to help prevent collisions, dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beam, and Road Sign Assist that displays road signs recognised by the camera on the display so that drivers do not miss them.

Powertrains available include a 1.8-litre hybrid, which boasts outstanding fuel efficiency of 34.2km/L, as well as a 1.2-litre turbo. Both powertrain options will be mated to a 10-speed sport sequential CVT transmission.

Toyota targets to sell 2,300 units of the Corolla Sport a month, and is expected to be revealed across Toyota dealers in Japan this weekend.
