In the second round of bidding in April, COE prices continue on its upward trend, with all categories recording an increase.

COE prices continue to rise in the last round of bidding in April, with Cat B recording the biggest increase
Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, increased by $4,040 (13.85%) and ended at $33,199.

Premiums for Cat B, larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, increased by $4,898 (11.36%) and ended at $48,000.

In Cat E, the open category, premiums went up by $4,201 (8.15%), with premiums closing at $52,410.

The market is expecting a smaller COE supply come May. As expected, COE prices have continued on its upward trend.

As this round of bidding is the last before the Land Transport Authority officially releases the number of COEs allocated for the May to July period, it may have encouraged many to secure their COEs before the next round of bidding.

With the onset of a smaller COE quota, COE prices are expected to continue to rise.
