An optimised drive system hardware with software adjustments to improve efficiency sees the updated Audi e-tron gaining 25km of range.

A technical update sees future versions of the Audi e-tron 55 quattro being able to drive for up to 436km on a full battery charge based on the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure, an additional 25km over its previous range.

A variety of technical optimisations sees the Audi e-tron 55 quattro gaining 25km of range
A new type of wheel brake has allowed further reductions in what is known as residual brake torque. This reduces the losses that occur as a result of the proximity of the brake calipers to the brake discs.

The drive system has also become more efficient thanks to a number of optimisations which allow the front electric motor to be almost entirely disengaged and disconnected from the electricity supply, and thus run under normal driving conditions without power or drag losses.

Furthermore, the usable range of the high-voltage battery has been increased. The battery in the Audi
e-tron 55 quattro has a total capacity of 95kWh and now gives customers access to a net power figure of 86.5kWh. All newly produced models will benefit from the technical upgrade.

The Audi e-tron S-line will receive a spoiler and a rear diffuser for optimised aerodynamics
Improvements have also been made to the energy recuperation system and thermal management for the technical update.

A new S-line exterior package has also been announced as part of the technical update. New equipment for S-line versions includes 20-inch wheels and sport air suspension. A more distinctively contoured bumper is also flanked by bigger and more expressive air curtains, which improve air flow. An S-line emblem also adorns the radiator grille, while the illuminated aluminium door sill trims feature an 'S' logo.

A spoiler is also fitted as standard and a striking diffuser at the rear contributes to the outstanding aerodynamics of the
e-tron Sportback. In contrast to the basic model, the attachments on the S-line exterior are painted in the exterior body colour, including the wheel arch trims, door sills, bumpers and exterior mirrors.
