Audi customer teams will be out in force for the third and final round of the Zhuhai Motorsports Association (ZMA) series. STS Motorsport Crew will be looking to build on its one-two overall finish in the previous round, this time with Chen Yinian and Zhang Yuquan piloting the team's pair of Audi R8 LMS.
The five-strong Audi RS 3 LMS line-up includes the round two A5 (TCR) class winner Liang Yongchao with TSRT and runner-up Huang Zijun of TPR Racing. A second TPR Racing RS 3 LMS is piloted by Lu Zhenming, with Champ Motorsport's Tian Kai and Liang Jiongrong of Sinsoku Racing completing the quintet.
The Audi R8 LMS has been unbeatable so far in the ZMA club series, which made its debut at the 4.319km Zhuhai International Circuit in July and marked the return of club racing in the country. First it was Ma Ka Chun who took overall victory at the opening round with a Zun Motorsport Crew R8 LMS GT3, followed over the line by teammate Yang Baijie in the Audi R8 LMS.
In September's round two, it was Yang's turn to take the top step, this time with Chen Yinian in second place. Now it will be down to Chen and Zhang Yuquan to continue the vehicle's dominance of the 2020 ZMA season.
For TSRT's Liang Yongchao, the ZMA finale marks the final chance to add to his tally of 625 Audi Sport Asia Trophy points. A second A5 class win would earn him an additional 375 points, elevating him to a top 10 finish in the inaugural trophy standings.
As it stands Audi R8 LMS GT3 driver Daniel Bilski leads the Audi Sport Asia Trophy standings on 2,478 points. Audi RS 3 LMS competitor Wu Yifan is second on 1,965 points with Ma Ka Chun third on 1,575 points.
The ZMA weekend gets underway on Saturday, December 5 2020, with two free practice sessions of 30 minutes each, with a single 20-minute qualifying session on Sunday followed by the 15-lap race at 2:50pm.
