The two millionth SUV has rolled off the production line at Skoda's main plant in Mlada Boleslav. Skoda's delivery numbers in 2020 demonstrate just how successful its current SUVs are - the Kodiaq, Karoq and Kamiq SUV model series amount to around 40% of all vehicles produced by the brand worldwide.
With the world premiere of the Yeti in 2009, the brand laid the foundation for its success in the SUV segment. By the end of its manufacture in 2017, 684,500 units of the popular model had rolled off the production line. To date, the Skoda has produced approximately 593,600 units of the Kodiaq and 454,800 Karoqs.
In 2019, the Kamiq was introduced. With its increased ground clearance and a raised sitting position with the agility of a compact car, these features are extremely well received by customers all around the world, and so the two millionth Skoda SUV is also the 250,000th Kamiq produced.
The all-electric Enyaq iV celebrated its world premiere in September 2020, and it is Skoda's first model to be based on the Volkswagen Group's modular MEB electric car platform. Furthermore, the Enyaq iV is the only MEB-based vehicle in Europe to be built outside Germany. To date, approximately 1,100 units of the Enyaq iV have been produced at Skoda's Mlada Boleslav plant.
