The first engine will be a 1.8 litre 16-valve turbo, although technically it is a 1742cc engine, with a performance output of 200bhp and 320Nm of torque. The car receiving this engine will be badged the 1750 TBi, after the classic Alfa Romeo 1750.
The 1750 TBi will be capable of a 0-100km/h sprint time of 7.7 seconds, on to a top speed of 236km/h.
The next engine is a 2.0 litre JDTm diesel with 170bhp, which allows the car to get from 0-100km/h in 8.8 seconds.
Both engines comply with the latest Euro V emissions standards, and will be made available on the Alfa Romeo Brera and Spider sports cars later in the year.
In addition, there will be two new trim levels for the 159 to go along with the new engines. The Turismo Sport trim comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, a Blue&Me in-car system and sport dials for the instrument panel.
The other trim level is badged Elegante, and comes with an Alfatex leather finish for the cabin, a visibility package and rear sensors as a parking aid.
