Toyota has launched new versions of the Noah and Voxy minivans in Japan.

Both vehicles retain their focus on maximisation of cabin space via a powerful box-like structure. Now based on Toyota's TNGA-C platform, the cars also get an optimised body structure with redesigned C-pillars for increased interior space. A cabin height of 1,405mm, will further add to the sense of openness within the cabin.

Seven-seater models get captains chairs in the second row
The seven-seater versions of both cars get captain seats in the second row. These seats get ottoman mechanisms for support of the feet and seat heaters, alongside large foldable side tables.

Eight-seater models meanwhile, will come with a three-person bench seat in the second row, which folds in a 60/40 split configuration.

Special two-person bench seats with handrails can also be provided as a package option. With access space provided at the left of the second-row seats, this configuration provides easy access to the third-row seats even with a child seat installed in the second row.

Both the new Noah and Voxy are equipped with power sliding doors, alongside a universal step on the front passenger seat side. The step extends and retracts alongside the opening or closing of the door, and at 200mm high, will provide easy access for the whole family, from children to the elderly.

Power sliding doors, handgrips on the B-pillars, and a foot step below the door will offer easy access for all
Further supporting ease of access is a 460mm hand grips on both left and right B-pillars. Set at an easy height to grip for everyone from children to adults the hand grip thickness is optimised at the top for adults and at the bottom for children.

Hands-free dual power sliding doors are included as package options. These will enable users carrying the key to automatically open and close the sliding doors simply by placing their feet under the sensors at the bottom of the front doors.

A large capacity 104-litre 'super luggage box' also provides useful underfloor storage for tall cargo items and suitcases.

Both the Toyota Noah and Voxy will be offered in Japan a 1.8-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine delivering a claimed 23.4 km/litre fuel economy. A 2.0-litre paired to a CVT is also available.
