Volkswagen has announced that the ID.4 that completed a record-setting journey across the U.S.A will now feature as part of the Building an Electric Future exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum.
The vehicle was driven by long-distance Driver Rainer Zietlow and Photographer Derek in July 2021, reaching their final stop three months later at the Volkswagen Group of America headquarters in Herndon, Virginia. The drive set a record for the longest journey by an electric vehicle in a single country.
The multimedia exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum celebrates Volkswagen's rich and impactful history, both globally and locally, and showcases the design and construction of the vehicles of tomorrow.
The exhibit consists of five rooms showcasing how Volkswagen's modular electric drive matrix, or MEB platform, was engineered, the variety of models that are being planned, its uniquely flexible nature, and how the vehicles will be assembled.
