Skoda has laid the foundation stone for a new headquarters complex, to be called the Laurin & Klement Kampus.
The new headquarters is located just opposite the company's current headquarters in Mlada Boleslav and is expected to be opened in the second half of 2023. Covering a total area of 44,000m2, the new site will offer space for up to 1,700 employees over five storeys in four wings.
The new headquarters will be powered by CO2-neutral biomass, and will house a photovoltaic system consisting of 330 panels delivering a peak output of 100kW for additional power on its roof. Other energy-saving features include the use of LED technology and intelligent light sensors to reduce the energy for lighting compared to fluorescent tubes, while highly efficient ventilation systems will pre-cool the offices at night.
The new site will also feature a rainwater collection system, which can collect enough water to irrigate the site's 4,070m2 of green space, complementing the space available for numerous insect and animal species across the 13,400m2 site.
