Bentley is adding onto the Continental lineup with a new performance-oriented 'S' range.

Available as both the Continental GT S coupe and the Continental GTC S convertible, the range - focused on driving performance and visual presence - is available only with the lighter 4.0-litre V8. This unit still produces the same 542bhp and 770Nm of torque in the new range, giving the Bentley Continental GT S a zero to 100km/h sprint time of just 4.0 seconds.

The Bentley Continental GT S gets red brake calipers while the traditional brightware is instead finished in black
The cars in the 'S' range however, do get a sports exhaust system fitted as standard, all the better to draw out that crossplane V8 beat.

An advanced 48V electric active anti-roll control system is also present in the range, which Bentley claims is able to generate up to 1,300Nm of torque within the car's anti-roll bars in as little as 0.3 seconds, utilised here to arrest body roll under hard cornering.

The technology also improves ride comfort by decoupling the left and right-hand wheels from each other at cruising speeds.

These dynamic enhancements are backed by a more aggressive exterior. The 'S' range adds to the regular Continental a black gloss radiator grille and black brightware (although the winged Bentley badge is spared the treatment here) alongside distinctive 'S' badging on the front fenders. Tinted head and taillights further add to the dynamic visual impact the cars deliver.

In the cabin, the 'S' line sees extensive use of dinamica, alongside a two-tone colour split that is exclusive to the line
And further supporting the new look for the 'S' range is a new 22-inch wheel, with five Y-shaped spokes finished in gloss black and also available in a new Pale Brodgar Satin finish. Although if these do not tickle your fancy, there's another 'S' range exclusive 21-inch tri-spoke wheel design that combines gloss black and bright machined finishes.

Either way, you'll get red-painted brake calipers behind those wheels, for the perfect sporting contrast.

In the cabin, the range gets a unique two-tone interior. Dinamica here covers the steering wheel, gear lever, seat cushion and seat backrest of the range, while leather hide is employed on the seat bolsters, door pads, along the instrument panel and around the console.
