Should the takeover be successful, Spyker says it will rebuild the Saab brand with the 9-3, 9-5 and 9-4X models, as well as introducing a new entry-level 9-1 model. Saab will remain in Trollhattan, Sweden and continue to maintain ties with GM, including the use of GM engines.
Spyker CEO Victor Muller said that the Trollhattan will continue to build most Saab models, including the new 9-5 that will be launched this year, as well as the next 9-3, scheduled for launch in 2012. The 9-4X Crossover will be produced at GM’s plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, and will debut later this year or early 2011.
