The 2013 Gallardo Super Trofeo primarily used for next year's season is based on the recently unveiled Gallardo. The new Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo is technically similar to its predecessor and while extensive aerodynamic re-profiles, adjustable aerodynamic devices and an all-new ten-position rear wing has been added. The aerodynamic enhancements provide the 2013 Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo with a bolder and very aggressive styling (just look at that image above!).
The additional aerodynamic aiding components, besides the vast rear wing and diffuser, provide a 120% aerodynamic upgrade over the 2012 model. With re-modelled brake ducts, the 2013 Super Trofeo achieves a 50% improvement in thermal performance. Front brake cooling has been improved, while downforce is increased by 128kg in low downforce and 160kg in high downforce setup.
At the event, Stephan Winkelmann also confirmed that Automobili Lamborghini is planning to expand the Super Trofeo series into other markets. Before unveiling the 2013 challenger, Automobili Lamborghini's President and CEO - Stephan Winkelmann - summarised the success of the one-make series over the past year during a press conference in the Atalaya Centre at the Navarra race circuit.
