The much awaited M6 Gran Coupe is now here in Singapore. BMW Asia has announced the arrival of the sleek four-door coupe, which went for a thorough performance upgrade with credits to BMW's M division. Completing the package are hallmark M design cues, which gave the M6 Gran Coupe a menacing, yet subtle feel.
The heart of the performance coupe is a 4.4-litre high revving unit which sports many of the marque's cutting edge technologies and features, such as a pair of twin-scroll turbochargers, cross-bank exhaust manifold, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-Vanos continuously variable camshaft control.
As such, the M6 Gran Coupe is able to churn out 560bhp and a peak torque of 680Nm - capable to see to the century sprint done in 4.2 seconds.
The power transfer is courtesy of a seven-speed M Double Clutch transmission with Drivelogic. Besides ensuring maximum traction at any point of time, the transmission's electronic management system also offers a Launch Control function for maximum acceleration off the line.
Working hand-in-hand is the Active M Differential, situated at the rear axle, which distributes power to further improve traction. The electronically controlled multi-disc limited-slip also works in tandem with the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), which adjusts the drive sent to the rear wheels according to driving conditions.
The M6 Gran Coupe will be packed with a myriad of accessories, including 20-inch M light alloy rims, leather trim and two-zone automatic climate control (with four-zone as an option). On the options list are M multifunction seats, Comfort Access, Soft Close Automatic function for doors, electrically operated sun blinds and a Bang & Olufsen High End Surround Sound system.
The M6 Gran Coupe will be retailed at Munich Automobiles.
