Some patrons of Shell's Seletar Hills petrol station experienced problems with their car's engine after refuelling last Monday. The oil firm said it has received feedback on the issue from several customers, and conducted investigations. They have found water in one of the tank storing Fuelsave 95, and has immediately stopped sale of the petrol.
The Straits Times reported the reply from a Shell spokesperson, stating that no other tank at the station were affected. Other Shell outlets also conducted checks, but found no abnormalities. The spokesman also added that only a small number of cars were affected as the incident took place during low peak period on Monday evening.
One of the affected drivers, Mr. Tan, told Lianhe Wanbao that his car shook violently when he was driving home. The Chinese evening daily also reported that Mr. Tan received a call from Shell the next day, when the car broke down.
