  • Esteem Performance: The budding EV Car Specialist

    14 Jun 2025

Despite 30 years of experience, Esteem Performance isn’t resting on its laurels, surging into the EV market with a special workshop focused on EV batteries.

With various automotive workshops in Singapore offering different specialised services, how does one stand out? For sure, quality of work as well as customer trust plays a huge part. In that regard, Esteem Performance Pte Ltd ticks both boxes.

    Thou shalt cut no corners

Established in 1990 as an auto service workshop, Esteem Performance understands that continuous learning and hands-on experience are essential for success. The company prioritise understanding problems on the ground and developing effective solutions, without compromising on work ethics or cutting corners. Its commitment to quality workmanship speaks for itself.

Esteem Performance has a wide variety of snacks and tidbits in its lounge, as well as a spacious seating area for customers to relax while their car is being serviced

"Hold up, we'll take it from here"

Nestled in the Sin Ming district, a centralised location works in Esteem Performance's favour. With two state-of-the-art service workshops, the brand services over 40 vehicles per day, offering reasonable prices with quality work thanks to a team of seasoned mechanics, each offering over 15-20 years of experience. It also offer top notch aftersales services and follow-ups, sales of new and pre-owned cars, and car-financing and car insurance services. Situated right next to VICOM, it also offers a unique all-in-one service option: After servicing, Esteem Performance will pass the vehicle over to VICOM for checking. And the owner's part in all this? Chilling in Esteem Performance's waiting lounge, where refreshments and entertainment will be provided free-of-charge.

Esteem Performance's new EV workshop, launched last year, is focused on battery health, something most EV drivers may potentially overlook

I'll bet you never thought to check

But arguably Esteem Performance's most unique selling point is it's new EV workshop. As part of their expansion, its new "battery lab" workshop was launched in 2024 with a focus on battery maintenance and battery balancing. This service is geared towards EVs and plug-in hybrids from brands such as Toyota and Hyundai. Jason, head of the EV workshop, also notes that they are more equipped to handle parallel imported EVs from European car brands.

So, what brought the birth of this battery-focused workshop into fruition? Esteem Performances stresses that it came about as customers may not be too clear of the condition of their newly purchased vehicle. For example, customers who purchase a second-hand EV might be able to tell if its motor is in working condition, but the battery itself is a whole different ball game. The EV workshop is still very much in its infancy stage: For now, Esteem Performance offers recharging and maintaining of the battery.

Live, laugh, and most importantly, learn

As for future expansions, Esteem Performance states that its next targeted segment will be the EV industry. Recognising that the youth of today are presumably a lot more tech-savvy, there is a potential to invest in youngsters who are willing to learn by giving them the opportunity to attend related courses and workshops. Even Esteem Performance's management team have to attend such courses so that every employee knows their own products.

All Esteem Performance workshop heads have gone for the relevant courses and came back with the certificates to prove that they are very much more than the person for the job

With a sound work ethic that flows from its management to the boots on the ground, it's safe to say that this is a brand that put in the graft to get to where they are today.

Esteem Performance Pte Ltd's headquarters and servicing workshop is located at 385 Sin Ming Drive, Singapore 575718. Its EV workshop is located a stone's throw away at 176 Sin Ming Drive, Sin Ming Autocare #01-14/15/16, Singapore 575721. Opening hours for both locations are from 09:00am to 06:00pm on Mondays to Fridays and 09:00am to 05:00pm on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
