Those in attendance for our latest Mycarforum hangout with Aion got a chance to test drive three models in total: The Aion V, Aion UT, and the Hyptec HT!
Let's face it, electric vehicles are becoming increasingly commonplace on not just our roads, but on the rest of the modern world's too. In Singapore, a sizeable chunk of EVs represent an attractive price point for first-time drivers or others looking to try something new.
The Aion V - the brand's most popular model - is no stranger to our asphalt, having been unveiled on our shores in February 2025 and seeing the arrival of a Premium variant a few months later. And on 24 September 2026 at the Aion showroom, over 20 attendees got a chance to get up close and personal with it, as well as two other models: The Aion UT and the Hyptec HT (both gullwing doors and non-gullwing doors versions).
The event kicked off with a presentation by Sgcarmart's very own Julian Kho, who gave the audience a rundown of the models’ positive attributes. Dave, Aion's product specialist, then took over and went into a little more detail, particularly about the Aion V's 6.6-litre centre console refrigerator, which operates along a temperature range of -15 to 50 degrees Celsius.
This, he stresses, is good for keeping things like food and beverage items fresh, so as to mitigate the chance of it going bad in the event of a long journey. And in a tropical climate like ours, where the interiors of cars parked under the sun can feel like an oven after a few minutes, this is a pretty nifty tool to have in one's locker.
With the presentations over, guests then headed over to enjoy a buffet spread or sign up for test drives with the three aforementioned models, all free of charge! Over the course of the event, guests were either seen chatting to Aion's staff, taking the brand's models out for a spin, or enjoying the food, making for a very chill way to spend a Thursday evening!
Attendees were also given the chance to win more than $300 worth of CapitaStar vouchers. All they had to do was find any of 10 QR codes plastered in and around the three models on show, scan it, and answer a specially-prepared quiz. And if you were wondering, a total of five lucky winners walked away with vouchers that night.
