Each pilot town gets a customised set of Friendly Street features, to make walking and cycling in the town a safe and pleasant experience for residents.
Five estates - including Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok West, Tampines, Toa Payoh and West Coast - have been outlined as pilot areas for the initiative.
The contract covers the construction of Tengah Plantation, Tengah Park and Bukit Batok West stations, as well as the required connecting viaducts.
