Acura Integra Prototype makes global debut

Acura has revealed the Integra Prototype at the AutoMobility LA Motor Show.
The prototype sports an exterior that is inspired by past Integras, including the original that helped launch the Acura brand in 1986. The design of this prototype will also inform the 2023 Integra that will become the new gateway performance model in the Acura lineup.
Designed in Japan, the Integra Prototype sports a dramatically sloping roofline and liftback tailgate, giving it a distinct coupe-like profile. Trademark Integra design cues on the prototype include the embossed Integra name under the driver's side head light and passenger's side taillight.
New design features meanwhile, include a new frameless Diamond Pentagon grille, imbuing the car with a purposeful and sporty character. Acura's unique lighting signature has also been updated with this Integra Prototype, with its LED daytime running lights sporting a 'Chicane' pattern and positioned above the the JewelEye LED head lights.
Muscular rear wheel arches and an aggressive rear fascia with dual-exhaust finishers emphasise the car's wide track at the rear. Also noticeable here are the single-piece taillights, which sport a 'Chicane' light signature to match those at the front, a nod to previous Integra models.

No full drivetrain details for the 2023 Acura Integra have been revealed as yet. Acura does state however, that it will be powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine, equipped of course, with Honda's VTEC technology. The car also will be available with six-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential.
More details on the 2023 Acura Integra will be released closer to its market introduction in the U.S.A in the first half of 2022.
