The e-tron A3 is based on the A3 Sportback five-door model, and comes with an electric motor that is charged by a 26.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and produces 136bhp and 270Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a single-gear automatic transmission, and this enables the car to go from 0-100km/h in 11.2 seconds, and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 140km/h.
Audi says that the e-tron A3 is able to travel up to a range of up to 140km on a single charge, and the battery can be replenished by plugging it into a standard 230V household socket, which takes nine hours for a full recharge. The time is reduced to four hours if a 400V rapid charger is used. The battery pack is located underneath the boot, and luggage capacity has thus been reduced to 265 litres
Cosmetically, the e-tron A3 is little changed from the A3 Sportback, but there are added equipment throughout, such as a revised instrument cluster, leather/Alcantara seats, a heated windshield and an optimized air conditioning system.
