Bentley completes global relay

Bentley has completed a global relay, performed to mark the 20th anniversary of the Continental GT.
Spanning across Europe, the Middle East, China, the Asia Pacific region, as well as the U.S.A and the U.K., the global relay was performed by a total of 20 journalists and content creators in 20 memorable drives - one for each year of production of the grand tourer.
The relay also ended at Bentley's Crewe site, brining with it a specially-made 20th anniversary baton that was developed in the Crewe design studio and said to have received the same level of meticulous refinement as any production model feature from the firm.
This baton is finished in Cypress Green (to match the exterior finish of the first-ever production Continental GT) and sports an asymmetrical twist like the blade of an aircraft propellor. A knurled cap also features on the baton, which is modelled on the Continental GT's drive mode selector, and allows access to the baton’s interior where the scroll is carried. The baton will now rest in Bentley's Heritage Garage, together with the very first Continental GT.
First launched in 2003, the Bentley Continental GT was the first all-new Bentley of the modern era and came powered by a W12 engine coupled with all-wheel drive. The car is said to have been instrumental in propelling Bentley to its modern status as the most sought-after luxury car brand in the world.
Bentley also revealed a one-off Continental GT Speed by Mulliner at Monterey Car week in August 2023 to mark the 20th anniversary of the Continental GT. This special car comes with a Cypress Green exterior, as well as a Saddle leather interior with Burr Walnut veneer - all inspired by the same first production example of the Continental GT.
