Bugatti and The Little Car Company have showcased a beautiful collection of six Bugatti Baby IIs, all built to mark the 100th anniversary of the debut of the Bugatti Type 35 at the Grand Prix de Lyon in 1924.
The six examples of the Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition are each inspired by the liveries of the six Bugatti Type 35 race cars which participated in the grand prix, with all sporting a unique chassis number to match their original cars and all sporting hand-painted entry numbers on their radiators, bonnet, and boat tail.
All cars also feature special brass identification plates within their cockpits, and come in a Bleu de Lyon exterior finish, reminiscent of the six original Type 35 cars. Each special Bugatti Baby II also comes with a special aluminium body with lockwire additions and features custom louvres to match their corresponding race cars. These bodies are all constructed by hand by The Little Car Company's artisans at its headquarters in Oxfordshire, U.K.
Bugatti states that the Type 35 went on to achieve over 2,500 victories and podium finishes across a 10-year period, placing it as one of the most successful racing cars of all time.
