CTE Tunnel will be closed for SCDF-LTA joint exercise

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced the temporary closure of the Central Expressway (CTE) tunnels in both directions to facilitate an emergency exercise. The joint exercise by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and LTA will be conducted this Sunday, 25 November 2012, from 12 midnight to 5.30am.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area during the above mentioned periods, plan their journeys ahead and commute via alternative routes to minimise inconvenience. LTA has also reminded motorists not to stop or park their vehicles illegally and any vehicle found doing so will be towed away. LTA seeks the public's co-operation and advises all motorists to follow the signs and directions of the officers on duty.
The joint exercise oversees coordination between the two agencies and is part of an ongoing effort to enhance operational readiness of its emergency responders when dealing with emergencies. Refer to the table in our gallery below, for suggested alternative routes.
