Occupants in a black Mazda sedan had a lucky escape when they were unhurt by a falling tree that crushed their car. The accident took place on Saturday afternoon, when the sedan was travelling along Tanglin Road from Margaret Drive.
The Straits Times received a photo of the incident from Twitter user Kim Vernon, who also said that the couple in the car escaped without hurt, and Police officers were spotted helping the couple at around 12:35pm.
Over the past decade, falling trees and branches have claimed four lives and left 62 injured. From January to April this year, there were 122 cases of trees being uprooted.
