Ferrari Purosangue nets the Compasso d'Oro 2024
22 Jun 2024|301 views
It's far from the prettiest Ferrari to many of you we are sure, but apparently the Purosangue is beautiful enough to net the converted Compasso d'Oro, an industrial design award presented by the Italian Association for Industrial Design.
Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari's Chief Design Officer on behalf of the company received the award on behalf of the firm, which has already been honoured four previous times, for arguably greater achievements such as the F12berlinetta, FXX K, and the SP1.
The Compasso d'Oro is awarded biennially, and preselection is carried out by the association's Permanent Design Observatory which apparently consists of experts, designers, critics, historians and specialised journalists. The jurors of the association state the Purosangue was chosen because it embodies 'a fusion of technology combined with courageous typological innovation that goes beyond the conventional categories of Gran Turismo, representing a tangible step forward in a mature sector amid global competition'.
