If you've seen a matt black car with a "guesswhatcar.sg" sticker on its side, you might have been wondering if it's a new BMW, Audi or Volkswagen. Well, at least one in three participants who tried guessing thought it was one of those, according to Cycle and Carriage's guesswhatcar.sg website.

Kia has proudly unveiled that the "mystery car" is the new Kia Cerato Forte.

Powered by either a 1.6-litre aluminium engine with 122 hp and 156 Nm of torque, or a 154 hp 2.0-litre inline-four, the Cerato Forte is now available in four 1.6-litre variants, and two for the 2.0-litre model.

Notable improvements over the previous Cerato include larger dimensions - 30 mm longer, 40 mm wider and a wheelbase lengthened by 40 mm. Track widths at the front and rear have also been increased to improve stability and handling.

All versions also come with airbags (two for the 1.6L and six for the 2.0L), ABS, automatic headlamps, multi-function steering wheel and an integrated audio system with iPod connectivity. SX models will also have factory-fitted 17-inch alloy wheels and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard.

According to Mr Chin Kee Min, Senior Manager for Kia Operations, Cycle and Carriage Kia, more than 200 customers have placed their bookings before the launch, some even without proper viewing of the car or even a test drive.

Prices, with COE, start at S$41,999 for the Cerato Forte 1.6L EX (M) and S$44,999 for the 1.6L EX automatic, while the 2.0L SX costs from S$51,999 for the manual and S$3,000 more for the automatic.
