The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is powered by a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 sourced from Jeep’s parent, the Chrysler Group, and the unit produces 465bhp and 630Nm of torque. This allows the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 to go from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds, and reach a top speed of 255km/h. The V8 engine also features an improved Fuel Saver Technology system than operates over a wider rpm range, resulting in a 13% improvement in highway fuel consumption and a 720km maximum driving range.Jeep will offer the Grand Cherokee SRT8 in Europe starting from the first quarter of 2012, with a high level of specification that includes a lowered suspension with active damping, a satellite navigation system, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitoring system, steering-wheel mounted paddles and a 825-Watt Harman Kardon audio system.
Also making its debut at Frankfurt is the revised Wrangler three and five-door 4x4s, with its new 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine with 285bhp that replaces the outgoing 3.8-litre unit. The V6 engine will be available with either a five-speed auto or, for the first time, a six-speed manual transmission. Other highlights on the Jeep stand include a new Wrangler 2.8-litre turbo diesel with 200bhp and auto stop-start technology, and the Wrangler Arctic special edition, finished in Bright Silver White.
