Lancia has previewed a new Ypsilon HF, and revealed the first images of the Ypsilon Rally 4 HF, the race car that will mark Lancia's return to the world of rallying.
First off, the Lancia Ypsilon HF. Powered by a 240bhp electric motor, Lancia states that the performance hatchback will complete the century sprint in 5.8 seconds, and will get a lowered suspension alongside widened tracks and a more assertive exterior compared to the regular Ypsilon.
Lancia is set to return to the world of rallying with this Ypsilon Rally 4 HF that comes equipped with a 209bhp 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine
Lancia states that the Lancia Ypsilon HF will make its full debut come May 2025, and that the yet-to-be-revealed Gamma and Delta will also get their own HF performance-oriented variants.
Over to the Ypsilon Rally 4 HF. Set to compete in the Group Rally 4 category, the new race car will come powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine that is set to deliver a total of 209bhp, all sent to the front wheels (Only front-wheel drive vehicles are admitted in the Group Rally 4 category). Lancia states that the car comes equipped with a five-speed mechanical transmission and mechanical limited-slip differential, placing it as a serious candidate for drivers aspiring to victory in the class and in the two-wheel drive championships.
Lancia only just revealed its new HF logo in March of 2024. A revised version of its historical counterpart, the new logo gets simplified lines and shapes while retaining the elements of the brand logo - a move which is said to symbolise a new balance between innovation, the premium value of the brand, and the Italian spirit, alongside the touch of eclecticism the brand is so renowned for.
