The LF-A will only begin production in December this year, but Lexus has already found buyers of all 500 of its planned units before the supercar. The majority of the buyers were Germans, who accounted for a third of the sales figure.

The car is available for purchase in Europe, by putting down a downpayment of US$125,715, but the LF-A is only available for lease to US buyers, in order to avoid speculation. US owners can then choose to buy the car after the end of the two-year lease period. Lexus plans to produce only 20 units per month for the next two years.

The LF-A is powered by a 4.8-litre V10 engine that produces 553bhp and 480Nm of torque, which are sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed ASG transmission. Coupled with the car's weight of just 1480kg, this enables the LF-A to go from 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 325km/h.
