Lorry driver who knocked a lady off her scooter in a horrific accident that was recorded on video has admitted that she was in his view when he hit her.

The lorry driver, Mr W.Z. Goh, 52, who knocked 26-year old Hazel Ng off her scooter in a horrific accident last week, has admitted that she was in his view when he hit her. The incident was captured on video and went viral on the Internet, with many netizens condemning what the lorry driver did.

Speaking over the phone to reporters from The Straits Times, Mr Goh was asked about his intention to drive towards Ms Ng even when he saw her and he replied, "This sort of thing is hard to explain to you. When I'm giving my statement, I will tell the police."

He also said that he has not visited Ms Ng in hospital as he does not want to offend her with the wrong words. Asked by reporters if she would want Mr Goh to visit her, Ms Ng replied, "No thanks." Ms Ng suffered from multiple injuries and is still in hospital, awaiting skin graft surgery.

Mr Goh has been criticised heavily by netizens with some even calling him a 'murderer'. He has not reported back to work and has stopped driving since. Mr Goh said that he was so distressed over the incident that he has been taking medication for high blood pressure, insomnia and headaches.
