The Life Ball gala is Europe’s largest annual charity event in the fight against HIV and AIDS, and MINI has once again shown its support by commissioning Canadian designer twins Dean and Dan Caten, better known as DSQUARED², to come up with the MINI Cooper Red Mudder concept.
The Red Mudder is based on the MINI Cooper S hatchback, but is a more adventurous and tougher looking car that rides on a raised chassis and deep-tread all-terrain tires. The Red Mudder is also fitted with a front guard, rally headlamps, tinted side windows with grilles and a spare tyre on the tailgate.
DSQUARED² have also worked on the Red Mudder’s interior, with touches such as a compass, special floor mats made of structured aluminium sheeting all featuring. The car also carries the duo’s trademark DSQUARED² maple leaf logo on the leather head restraints and the door panels. "Our MINI 'Red Mudder' is 100 per cent DSQUARED²," the two brothers said in a statement.
The DSQUARED² will be auctioned off at the Life Ball event in Vienna, Austria, with all proceeds raised to go the charity. According to MINI, more than half a million Euros has been generated by these specially styled Life Ball MINI models on behalf of Aids Life since 2011.
